What is Skyderman? This is a simulated glider or a parachute that glides down a rope from an elevated platform on the hill or on the tower. As one glider/parachute with the participant goes down, the other automatically goes up for the use of next participant. The retrieving of used glider or parachute takes place automatically.
Steel wire rope mounted for recreational purpose consisting of Glider unit mounted on skylock unit which has a chair unit to accommodate two persons at a time is mounted on a track rope. The skylock unit has rollers for the smooth travel on the rope as well as hand brakes for speed control. The ‘Skylock’ unit has colourful FRP body. The chair unit suspended from the skylock unit has colourful FRP seat. All the metal parts of chair unit are padded for comfort and safety. The chair unit is also provided with safety harness.
The system is provided with pneumatic brakes operative from the embarkation platform. The pneumatic brakes do not permit the unwarranted immediate descend of the glider. The downward journey of the participant commences only on the release of pneumatic brakes by the operator on the embarkation platform. The system is provided with shock absorbers at the landing place as an added safety measure. The system is supplied with air compressor with motor, starter, etc. and the necessary tubing for availability of pressurized air.

It comprises of a small tower on a hill or a tower on a flat ground to create height. The tower or hill has embarkation place. There are guide ropes from the top to bottom to guide the glider or parachute.
Ø Options/choices for model selectio There are several models to choose from: 1) Gravity Powered: Glider Ride counter balancing type for 2 participants: a) Tandem seating on chair unit b) Side by side seating on bench unit Parachute ride hanging on safety harness for single participant. 2) Electrically Powered: Glider ride – Tandem seating or side by side seating on chair/bench unit for 2 participants. Parachute ride – Hanging from safety harness for single participant. Buyer has a choice of many colors and we can consider putting the resort owner’s emblem on Glider/ Parachute at extra cost. The resort owner can augment the facility with number of creative add ons.
Ø How does a Skyderman work and what are the safety measures? Skyderman works on principles of gravity. As the participant occupies his seat in the glider or attaches himself to the safety harness of the parasail on the elevated platform on a hill or a tower, he is ready for the launch. As the pneumatic brakes are released his downward journey starts with wings or parasail above him. He can control his descend speed to his choice with a hand brake provided. The journey from top to bottom is exhilarating and you have made yourself a ‘Skyderman’ who dares!
The safety measures are Speed governor to control the downward speed; Pneumatic brakes to avoid the dashing against the ground as well as unwarranted start in the beginning; Hand brake that gives you speed of your choice, shock absorbers at ground level to absorb the shock should the participant fail to use the hand brake.
Skyderman can be installed in Municipal parks, at Multiplexes or Shopping malls or hill stations.
